Link Crew

We are excited to be implementing a new program this school year called Link Crew in which every 9th grader will be linked with an upper classman. The function of Link Crew is to help all 9th graders with the transition from middle school to high school in a fun and exciting way. Link Crew will be having an orientation day for all 9th graders this year on Tuesday, August 26th from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Brandon High School. Busing will not be available, but it is highly encouraged that all 9th grade students attend this day. This day will be fun with many energizing activities. Please dress comfortably.

Do you love watching football but wish you knew more about the game? Moms can boost their knowledge of the game and experience a typical day of football practice all in just a few hours by attending this FREE clinic.

The clinic takes place on Thursday, July 24th from 7:00 - 9:00 PM at the Athletic Complex.

Brandon Online Summer School Options Proving Quite Popular

Just because school is out, that doesn't mean Brandon students want to stop learning. Through the Brandon Virtual School, many Brandon students are taking one or more summer school classes online. Most are attempting to free up opportunities for other classes in their schedule while others are working to get ahead. Most one semester classes cost $240-$300, and BVS director Brian Moore thinks students can accomplish quite a bit over the summer. "Completing a one semester class is easy to do over a summer," he said. "A full year course is obviously more difficult, but there is plenty of time. I think it's a great idea for most kids." Moore said the best bet is for kids to stop in to see him at the high school or email him at This email address is being protected from spambots. Bullying and Suicide Prevention

In the Brandon School District, we are concerned about any issues involving bullying and/or suicide. Under the District "Quick Links," we have added links with information for students and families to use as a resource. We will continue to monitor and update our site as information changes or more becomes available. As always, if anyone has questions or concerns, please feel free to contact your building administrator.
