Community Education is meant to extend and enhance the role of Brandon Schools. Recognizing this, the primary mission of Brandon Community Education is to encourage, coordinate, and facilitate the process of lifelong learning. This is accomplished through awareness of individual needs, special programs, and dedicated community involvement.
Enrichment Classes
- Enrollees are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis
- Classes are funded by your fees. Classes that do not meet established minimums will have to be canceled. Register early to avoid cancellations!
- Adult classes are open to persons 16 years of age and older.
- Senior Citizen’s Discount: 10% for Brandon School District residents ONLY, age 62 or older.
- Materials are not included in class fee, unless indicated.
- Before purchasing supplies, check with the office to be sure your class will be meeting.
- If Brandon School buildings are closed due to weather or other emergency conditions, Brandon Community Education classes are also canceled. Whenever possible, canceled classes will be made up.
- On occasion, our classes might be relocated or suspended for a night because or regular student school activities; we will give advance notice whenever possible.
Refunds
- Full refunds will be given if we cancel a class.
- Other refunds will be issued only if you request it before the second class meeting. No refunds will be given after the second class regardless of attendance. A $5.00 service fee will be charged for requested refunds.
- Mini classes (1 to 3 sessions): No refunds unless requested five working days prior to first class meeting.
Cancellation of Class Due to Inclement Weather
During the school year, it sometimes becomes necessary to close school due to inclement weather, impassable road conditions or other emergency situations. If the determination to close schools is made after 4:00 pm, it will be announced on local AM radio stations: WJR, WPON, WTAC, WFDF, CKLW, and WXYZ. A message will also appear on the local cable station.
Brandon Community Education programs and its administration are not responsible for any activities that take place outside of the class between the teacher and participants. It is the policy of Brandon School District not to discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, or handicap in its education programs, activities or employment as required by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1954 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.

Facility Use For Brandon Schools
It is the policy of the Brandon School District to not allow use of school facilities without written authorization. This written authorization should be in your possession. Please click on the Facility Use / Rental button from the District Main Page for more information.
