Dear Staff, Parents & Community Members:
The Brandon School District Board of Education is pleased to announce that Dan Gilbertson will be the new superintendent of Brandon School District, effective July 1, 2022! This hiring is the culmination of a comprehensive search process, including multiple stakeholder meetings and public interviews of all finalists. Dan Gilbertson is an experienced educator who has demonstrated a commitment to educational excellence, high achievement of students and innovative approaches to college and career readiness.
Dan Gilbertson has a track record of creating and working with strong leadership teams to help students, teachers and staff members succeed in their ongoing work. Dan Gilbertson is committed to creating an educational environment conducive to teaching and learning, where all students are valued, supported and encouraged to achieve their potential, be it academically, in the arts, or in athletics. We believe Dan Gilbertson will be an excellent fit for our Brandon School District community.
Dan Gilbertson joins a strong leadership team at Brandon School District. Our Interim Superintendent, Dr. Gary Richards, and the entire central office team have worked hard to continue to be at the forefront of educational excellence. We have appreciated their tireless efforts, especially during a difficult and uncertain time. We expect a seamless transition because of Dan Gilbertson’s experience and qualifications, combined with our existing strong leadership team.
There will be multiple occasions for the community to meet and engage with Dan Gilbertson over the coming months. We hope you join us in welcoming Dan Gilbertson to our community. Let’s also extend appreciation to Dr. Gary Richards for his exceptional service to our school district as Interim Superintendent.
