Hello Oakwood families. I hope you are all doing well during this unexpected interruption to all of our daily routines. It’s been interesting to try and continue daily life through remote, online meetings and classroom Zoom visits. If you haven’t had an opportunity to help your child join their classmates on a Zoom meeting, make sure you stay in touch with your classroom teacher and look for your chance to jump on the next one, as many of them are doing this! Here are a few updates I’d like to share: 5th grade Mackinac Trip: As of now the Mackinac trip is not canceled. Everything is on hold, including the final payment that was going to be due this week. The travel company is giving us until April 15th to decide next steps, since we are scheduled to return to school on April 13th following this state mandated school closure. That is the latest information we have. Be assured that when we get new information, we will share with you. Brandon Schools’ Meal Delivery: There are some changes coming starting March 30th to the meal pick-up schedule. Check out this flyer for details. Although we are unsure as to what will come next, we do know that March 30-April 3 is our scheduled Spring Break, and a new learning opportunities calendar will not be sent home. That will likely resume on April 6th. We are currently scheduled to resume our regular school schedule on Monday, April 13th.
