News and Notes for Brandon High School for the Week of January 25, 2021
This Week’s Schedule: Monday – Full day of school (Hours 1-3) Tuesday – ½ Day of school (Exams hours 1-2) Wednesday – ½ Day of school (Exams hours (3-4) Thursday – ½ Day of school (Exams hours 5-6) Friday – No School Possible Snow Day: In the event that we have a snow day on Monday, we will still move forward with exams for hours 1 and 2 on Tuesday. In the event that we have a snow day on any of our exam days, the schedule will be pushed back with the day of school that we missed being made up on the day we return. For example: If we have a snow day called on Tuesday, we would now take exams for hours 1-2 on Wednesday, for hours 3-4 on Thursday, and for hours 5-6 on Monday. No matter what, Friday will still be a day of no school. OSTC Students: Only morning OSTC students will attend OSTC face-to-face this week (Monday) due to our exam schedule. Please make sure you are keeping up with these classes asynchronously online. DEEP: DEEP is a dual enrollment program through the University of Michigan Flint where high school students can earn both high school credit and college credit simultaneously. Please see the attached flyer for more information about a February 9th informational meeting. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to be a part of. February Calendar: Please see the attached February calendar. Please be reminded that if we ever have a snow day that our calendar will get pushed back and we will make up the day missed on the day we return to school after the snow day. Report Cards: 1st Semester report cards will be coming home with your students on Friday, February 5th. These grades will also be accessible on both the parent and student portals. Morning Traffic: As a reminder, when you drop your students off in the morning at Brandon High School please make sure not to idle along the sidewalk on the West end of the building. This area should be used for quick drop off so that traffic can flow. If you get here early please park in a parking spot to wait until the doors open as to not impede traffic. Thank you for your attention to this. Second Semester Schedules: Second semester officially begins February 1st. Your student’s schedule will be available starting on Monday, on both the parent and student portals. Please see your student’s counselor if you have scheduling questions. Dates to Place on Your Calendar Now: January 26th – ½ Day of School (Exams Hours 1-2) January 27th – ½ Day of School (Exams Hours 3-4) January 28th – ½ Day of School (Exams Hours 5-6) January 28th – End of Semester #1 January 29th – No School February 5th – Report Cards Sent Home February 13th – 16th – Mid Winter Break March 9th -10th – Parent Teacher Conferences March 12th – No School March 26th – April 4th – Spring Break If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to one of our school administrators.
