Dear Parents/Guardians of Students with Special Needs,

The following is a letter from your Parent Advisory Committee representatives.  These parents represent all Brandon Parents who have students with special needs to the Oakland County Parent Advisory Committee.

February 11, 2020

Dear Parents and Guardians of Students with Special Needs,

Are you familiar with the Oakland Schools Parent Advisory Committee?  Each local school district in Oakland County, such as Brandon, has two parent representatives.  We are currently looking for two new parent representatives to represent the Brandon School District.

Are you interested in getting more information to help with your child’s needs?  Would you like to represent Brandon and provide input to Oakland Schools Special Education Department and to Michigan Department of Education regarding Special Education matters?  Please see the attached brochure for additional information regarding the Brandon Schools Parent Advisory Committee.

The current Brandon School District Parent Advisory Committee representatives would like to mentor you if you are interested in becoming a part of this team.  This is not a large time commitment, typically only 7 meetings during the school year.  And there are many benefits to both parents and the Brandon School District.

If you are interested, or have additional questions, please contact Diane Zedan at dzedan@brandon.k12.mi.us, or the current parent representatives at SEparentconnect@brandon.k12.mi.us.

Sincerely,

Diane Zedan
Special Education Director

Terri Crnkovich and Lorraine Lucas
Brandon PAC Representatives
