Attendance Day of Contest

Students are to be in school the entire day of contests and practices. If athletes are well enough to practice or play, they are well enough to come to school. (Exceptions to this rule and special arrangements for absences must be approved in advance by the building administration, i.e. funerals, prearranged dental and doctor appointments, and emergency situations.)

Purpose

The purpose of the Brandon Schools’ Athletic Program is to maximize student opportunities for participation in a variety of activities to enhance the student’s personal health and develop lifelong skills. Athletic activities should allow for the development of specific skills, leadership qualities, teamwork, and responsibility in competitive and non-competitive events. When appropriate, social activities should be planned to develop student interactions and self-awareness.

Transportation Policy

Teams will use school transportation to away contests unless otherwise authorized by the school administration.

All players must travel on the bus with the team to away contests, unless all of the following provisions are met:

  • Coaches’ permission.
  • Parent must take responsibility, in person, after the contest.
  • Parent must provide the "Contest Travel Release" form to the Athletic Director.

Admission to Games

Admission to High School contests will be $5.00. Middle School admission will be $3.00. Punch Card passes can be purchased at 10 admissions for $30.00 and can be used for High School or Middle School contests and are good for 1 school year. Passes for “Brandon Senior Citizens” can be picked up in the Athletic Office.
